Working Principle: Precision Separation in a Centrifugal Force Field

The disc centrifuge is a vertical, high-speed centrifugal separation device. Its core structure consists of a high-speed rotating bowl containing a stack of nested conical discs. Feed material enters through the center of the bowl and flows through the narrow gaps between the discs. Operating at speeds up to 11,000 rpm, the equipment generates a powerful centrifugal force field, achieving separation factors ranging from 4,000 to 10,000 or higher.

Components of differing densities rapidly stratify under the influence of centrifugal force: the light phase (oil) flows along the upper surface of the discs toward the axis and is discharged from the top, while the heavy phase (water) moves along the lower surface of the discs toward the bowl wall, rises, and is discharged through a separate outlet. Solid impurities accumulate against the bowl wall. The multi-disc design drastically reduces settling distances and increases the effective settling area, resulting in separation speeds thousands of times faster than traditional gravity settling methods.
