The decanter centrifuge is a centrifuge that realizes the centrifugal sedimentation process. During operation, the suspension forms an annular liquid layer along the drum wall under the action of centrifugal force, in which the solid particles with higher density settle to the drum wall along the radial direction to form sediment, and the clarified liquid is discharged through the overflow port of the drum. The sediment is discharged manually or mechanically. Common and intermittent operation are three-legged decanter centrifuges and horizontal scraper discharge decanter centrifuges, which are used to treat suspensions with solid particle size > 5 um, solid-liquid phase density difference > 500 kg/m³ and concentration less than 10%.
