Saudi Arabia + Dosing System + Water Treatment

Saudi Arabia

Product: Dosing System

Country: Saudi Arabia

Application: Water Treatment

Dosing systems are crucial auxiliary systems in water treatment and industrial processes. Their core function is to accurately and automatically add chemical agents to regulate water quality, protect equipment, or optimize processes. The following are the main application scenarios of dosing systems in the field of water treatment, which is the most widespread application area, covering the entire process from raw water to wastewater.

1. Pre-treatment Stage
  • Coagulation/Flocculation: Adding coagulants (such as PAC, aluminum sulfate) and flocculants (such as PAM) to cause tiny suspended particles and colloidal substances in the water to aggregate into larger flocs, facilitating effective removal in subsequent sedimentation tanks, dissolved air flotation units, or filters (such as the sand filters and media filters you specialize in).
  • PH Adjustment: Adding acid (such as sulfuric acid) or alkali (such as sodium hydroxide) to adjust the water's pH to the optimal range, protecting downstream equipment (especially RO reverse osmosis membranes) and optimizing chemical reaction efficiency.
  • Oxidation/Disinfection: Adding oxidizers (such as sodium hypochlorite) to kill bacteria and algae, and oxidize organic pollutants in the water.
2. Membrane Treatment System Protection
  • Scale Inhibitors: Added before RO reverse osmosis systems or nanofiltration (NF) systems to prevent scaling and clogging of the membrane surface by calcium, magnesium, and other scale-forming ions. This is a critical step in protecting expensive membrane elements.
  • Reducing Agents: If oxidizing disinfectants (such as chlorine) are used in pre-treatment, reducing agents (such as sodium bisulfite) must be added before the membrane to eliminate residual chlorine and prevent irreversible damage to the RO membrane caused by oxidizers.
  • Non-oxidizing Biocides: Added periodically to control the growth of microorganisms (bacteria, algae) in the membrane system and prevent biofouling.
3. Circulating Water Systems
  • Corrosion and Scale Inhibitors: Added to industrial cooling water circulation systems to prevent corrosion and scaling of pipes and equipment, improving heat exchange efficiency and extending system life.
  • Biocides and Algaecides: Control the growth of bacteria and algae in environments such as cooling towers, preventing the formation of biological slime.
4. Wastewater Treatment
  • PH Neutralization: Neutralizing the pH of industrial wastewater to within the legally permitted range (e.g., 6-9) before discharge or entry into biological treatment units.
  • Chemical phosphorus removal:  Chemicals such as iron salts or aluminum salts are added to react with phosphates in the wastewater, forming precipitates, which are then removed through sedimentation tanks or filtration equipment (such as the filter presses and centrifuges you mentioned).
  • Sludge conditioning: Before sludge dewatering (before entering the filter press, screw press, or centrifuge), flocculants such as PAM are added to improve the dewatering performance of the sludge, increasing the efficiency of solid-liquid separation and the dryness of the filter cake.

In summary, chemical dosing systems are the "best partners" to ensure the efficient and stable operation of the filtration and separation equipment you sell. For example, without a suitable scale inhibitor and biocide dosing system, RO membranes will quickly fail; without flocculant dosing, the efficiency of sedimentation tanks and dewatering equipment will be significantly reduced.
