Ireland+Self-cleaning Filter+Ceramic Wastewater
Product: Self-cleaning Filter
Country: Ireland
Application: Ceramic Wastewater
The self-cleaning filter is a widely used device in the water treatment industry, known for its simple design and excellent performance, achieving optimal filtration results for wastewater. Its main components include a motor, control box, control piping, main pipe assembly, filter cartridge assembly, 316L stainless steel brush, frame assembly, drive shaft, and inlet/outlet connection flanges. Overcoming many drawbacks of traditional filtering products such as low dirt-holding capacity, susceptibility to clogging, the need to dismantle and clean filter parts, and inability to monitor the filter status, the self-cleaning filter has the ability to filter raw water and automatically clean and discharge pollutants. During cleaning and discharging, the system maintains uninterrupted water supply, and the filter's operational status can be monitored, achieving a high degree of automation. It caters to various filtration precision requirements ranging from 10μm to 3000μm.
The self-cleaning filter operates and controls without the need for any external power source, automatically cleaning and discharging during the backwash period. The backwash cycle can be adjusted, with the default cleaning time set between 10-60 seconds. The water loss during cleaning is only 0.08% to 0.6% of the filtered water volume. The filtration precision can reach 10-3000 micrometers, and the working pressure can reach 1.0-1.6 MPa. The flow rate per unit ranges from 4 to 4160 cubic meters per hour. It can be installed vertically, horizontally, or inverted in any direction and position.

Working Principle
Water enters the filter through the inlet, first passing through the coarse filter component to remove larger particles and impurities. It then reaches the fine filter screen, where smaller particles are filtered out, and the clean water is discharged through the outlet. During the filtration process, impurities gradually accumulate on the inner layer of the fine filter screen, creating a pressure difference on both sides. When this pressure difference reaches a preset value, the automatic cleaning process begins: the drain valve opens, releasing pressure from the main pipe assembly's hydraulic motor chamber and hydraulic cylinder, discharging water. The pressure in the hydraulic motor chamber and the suction pipe drops significantly. Due to the negative pressure, impurities on the inner wall of the fine filter screen are sucked through the suction nozzle. The hydraulic motor chamber draws in water and discharges it through the drain valve, creating a suction and cleaning process. As water flows through the hydraulic motor, it drives the suction pipe to rotate. The piston of the hydraulic cylinder drives the suction pipe for axial movement. The suction cleaner assembly combines axial and rotational movements to completely clean the entire surface of the filter screen. The entire cleaning process lasts for several seconds. The drain valve closes at the end of cleaning, increased water pressure causes the hydraulic cylinder piston to return to its initial position, and the filter prepares for the next flushing cycle. During the cleaning process, the filter continues its normal filtration operation without interruption.
Application Range
- Steel Industry: Used for water treatment filtration in raw material yards, sintering pellet plants, filtration of cooling water in blast furnaces, rolling mills, continuous casting machines, and impurity filtration in high-pressure water phosphorus removal systems.
- Automotive: Widely used in paint production lines and water treatment systems in the manufacturing of cars, tractors, motorcycles, and engines.
- Power Plants: Used for high-purity water preparation in power plant boiler precision pre-treatment, filtration of generator cooling water, and sealing water. Can be used as a side filter when the water volume in the 13-4 system is particularly large.
- Petrochemical Industry: Used as a side filter in the circulating water field, can be used as the main treatment in a single or multiple machine configuration, replacing filter material filtration, reducing the filter material load, avoiding a large amount of flushing water consumption, and saving costs.
- Agriculture, Gardening, and Paper Mills: In systems with nozzles or spray systems, high-precision and highly automated filtration products are selected to reduce equipment blockage and wear caused by impurities.
- Mining: Filtration of spray water underground to ensure the normal operation of the system.
- Water Supply and Wastewater Treatment: Used in pre-treatment systems to improve system efficiency.
