Advantages and Disadvantages of Decanter Centrifuge
Large sewage treatment plants, especially municipal sewage treatment plants, have begun to use decanter centrifuges instead of belt filter presses, compared to the former, the latter has the following advantages:
1. Large treatment capacity (1 set of 450 type ordinary decanter treatment capacity of 30 m3/ h)
2. The environmental impact is smaller (decanter centrifugal confidential closed treatment, the open treatment of the belt machine is easy to cause secondary pollution)
3. The use of polyacrylamide agent is less (for municipal sludge) (the decanter treatment principle is separated by density difference, and the belt machine requires the floc to be larger, the solid-liquid separation is more obvious)
But there are also its disadvantages:
1. Is the higher price;
2. Maintenance is troublesome and costly.
Application
Decanter Centrifuge is an efficient separation equipment that uses centrifugal sedimentation suspension for continuous separation, with high speed, strong separation capacity, large production capacity, low energy consumption, and can separate a variety of suspensions with large differences in physical properties, which is mainly suitable for solid concentration <35%, solid-liquid > 0.05 suspension dehydration treatment.
The series of centrifuges have a wide range of applications, good adaptability to materials, can be widely used in municipal and industrial sewage treatment plants of various sludge thickening and sludge dewatering, various industrial separation fields, a variety of oil, grease extraction and production, as well as chemical, food, light industry, papermaking, mining and other processes.
But it does not apply to all sludge. After investigation, the decanter centrifuge is not suitable for sludge containing more inorganic components such as fly ash, because the fly ash is separated by centrifugation and is attached to the inner wall of the centrifuge.
