What is Duplex Basket Strainer?

A duplex basket strainer or double basket strainer is a strainer built into a piping system to remove large particles of dust and debris. A duplex filter system typically consists of two separate strainer baskets.

Structure & Working principle

The system also contains a valve handle that sits between to divert the liquid flow to one screen while the other is being cleaned. On some filters, the valve will work automatically and the filter will perform a self-cleaning operation.

Features

The duplex basket strainer can be used when the plant cannot be shut down for 24 hours and has mirror polished inner and outer surfaces to reduce contamination and make cleaning easier. The connection diameter can be customized to meet customer requirements. This filter is suitable for various applications and easy to operate and maintain with low cost.

This type of filter is installed in piping systems where the flow cannot be stopped. Depending on their NB size, they are capable of filtering liquids up to 40 µm. Basket filters can be used in industries where the majority of impurities are solids.
