The separation methods used in sludge treatment include gravity concentration of sludge, flotation of sludge or mechanical dewatering of sludge. In terms of working principle, the solid-liquid separation process can be divided into three types: sedimentation, filtration, and centrifugation. The working principle is as follows:
The sedimentation type relies on the action of external force and uses the difference in density between the dispersed substance (solid phase) and the dispersion medium (liquid phase) to make them move relative to each other.
The filtration type uses a certain porous substance as the medium. Under the action of external force, the fluid in the suspension passes through the medium pores, and the solid particles are intercepted.
Centrifugation is the process of using the inertial centrifugal force provided by the device to achieve solid-liquid separation. The centrifugal dehydrator is mainly composed of a rotating drum and a screw conveyor with a hollow rotating shaft. The sludge is sent into the rotating drum by the hollow rotating shaft and is immediately thrown into the rotating cavity under the action of the centrifugal force generated by the high-speed rotation.
The plate and frame filter press is squeezed by the plate frame to discharge the water in the sludge through the filter cloth to achieve the purpose of dehydration.
The belt dewatering machine is composed of a filter belt, a rolling cylinder, a filter belt tensioning system, a filter belt deviation adjustment system, a filter belt drive system and a filter belt washing system.
Rotary drum type solid-liquid separation equipment is a drum type screen filter device. The treated wastewater enters the drum along the axial direction and flows out through the screen in a radial shape. The impurities in the water (fine suspended matter, fiber, pulp, etc.) are trapped on the inner surface of the filter screen on the drum. When the impurities trapped on the filter screen are brought to the upper part by the rotating drum, they are backwashed into the slag discharge tank by the pressure washing water and flow out.
