How to Choose Suitable Vacuum Drum Filter?
Vacuum Drum Filter is a kind of continuous filter. The structure is similar to rotary drum filter, and the operation principle is also the same. A continuous filter with negative pressure as the filtering driving force and the filtering surface on the surface of the cylindrical drum. This filter was first used in alkali making and mining industry, and later extended to chemical industry, coal and sludge dewatering.
Working Principle
The moving disc of the distribution valve is fixed on the shaft journal of the drum and rotates synchronously with the drum. There is a circle of holes on the end face of the moving disc. Each hole is connected with a corresponding filter chamber on the drum.
The valve seat does not rotate, and several arc grooves are opened on the inner end face, which are respectively connected with the outer connecting pipe. The valve seat fits with the moving disc, and each arc groove is connected with the hole on the moving disc in sequence. The rotating filtration chamber can be connected with the fixed vacuum or compressed air system to realize the filtration process.
How to choose suitable type?
The filter cloth can be fully washed by a belt winding drum vacuum filter. If the particles in the suspension are heavy and the sedimentation speed is fast, it is suitable to adopt the vacuum drum filter with the structure of the suspension being fed above the drum or the inner filter surface drum vacuum filter. If the solid particles in the suspension are very fine or compressible filter residue is formed, a layer of solid aid shall be adsorbed on the filter surface of the drum in advance, or a certain amount of solid aid shall be mixed into the suspension to make the filter residue loose and improve the filtration speed.
Application
The filter is suitable for filtering suspension with moderate solid concentration and specific gravity and uniform particle size. The following conditions are suitable for the filter:
- The thickness of filter cake obtained within two minutes of filtration time is greater than 5mm suspension.
- The specific gravity and particle size of the solid phase are moderate, resulting in the settling speed of the solid phase less than 12mm / suspension.
- The suspension with low viscosity and no gum is not easy to block the filter cloth, which makes the filter cloth easier to resound.
- Under a considerable vacuum in the drum, the filtration temperature is less than the suspension gasification temperature.
- A small amount of solid particles are allowed to remain in the filtrate.
- Requiring large treatment capacity and continuous operation.
