How Does Quartz Sand Filter Work?

Quartz sand filter (referred to as sand filter) is the quartz sand filler filter, it is generally used as a pretreatment of pure water equipment and mineral water equipment.

It is mainly through the filter media to intercept and adsorb sediment, colloid, metal ions and organic matter. In the purified water treatment and sewage treatment is commonly used, because of its pollution-free, low price, low operating costs, so the application is more extensive.

The common material has stainless steel 304 material, carbon steel material, generally the internal use of epoxy or lining anti-corrosion treatment.

Water distribution system:

• Top water distribution has type of flare mouth, hanging basket.
• Bottom water distribution has type of flat plate, dome plate , stainless steel tube
• Water distribution strainer has type of ABS mushroom head and stainless steel wedge wire.

Note: due to the backwash function of the quartz sand filter, the flux of the general water distributor is usually about three times the operating flow.

Technical parameters

1. Design filtration speed: 8-12 m / h When the water head loss is about 5 meters, it is necessary to carry out backwashing and regeneration (generally by reading the pressure difference between the inlet and outlet at 0.005MP).
2. Backwashing strength: 10-15L / s • square meters.
3. Flushing time: 5-7 minutes.
4. Inlet water pressure: ≥0.04Mpa backwash inlet water pressure: ≥0.15Mpa.
5. Expansion rate: 25%-50%.
