The quartz sand filter has a simple structure and is convenient for backwashing. It is mainly by adjusting 4 valves to change the direction of the water. During operation, it is up in and out, and backwash is down in and out.

The washed sewage is discharged and then washed until the effluent is clear and clean, and the quartz sand should be filled with attention: the size of the quartz sand in the interception layer is 0.5-1.0mm, the height is more than 700mm, and there are two supporting layers below, which are 1 -2mm filling height is 150-200mm, 2-3mm filling height is 150-200mm.

Compared with other equipments, the quartz sand filter has a sewage interception capacity of 1.5-2.0 Kg/m3 for lime-treated water, and 2.5-3.0 Kg/m3 for coagulation-treated water.

Quartz sand filter VS fiber ball filter

The quartz sand operation is convenient, only need to backwash and positive washing. Fiber ball filter in addition to backwashing and positive washing, but also need to stir by motor, the operation difficulty is relatively high. And quartz sand filter backwashing is relatively easy, while fiber balls are easy to clump and not easy to backwash. Fiber ball regeneration requires stir, which increases the loss of electrical energy and operating costs, and the price of fiber balls is relatively expensive.
