Sand Filter

The Continuous Flow Sand Filter integrates flocculation, clarification and filtration functions. There are no moving parts underwater in the pool to ensure the stable and normal operation of the system. It is widely used in drinking water, industrial water, advanced sewage treatment, water reuse treatment and other fields.

Working Principle

The continuous flow sand filter is based on the principle of countercurrent. The raw water to be treated passes through the water inlet pipe and enters the filter tank through the water distributor located at the bottom of the filter. It flows out through the overflow. In this process, the SS and TP in the sewage are intercepted by the sand bed and the pollutant content in the quartz sand filter material increases, and the pollutant content in the lower filter material layer is higher than that of the upper filter material.

The filter material that intercepts the dirt is lifted by the air lift pump at the bottom of the filter tank to the sand washer on the top of the filter, and the pollutants are separated from the filter material by turbulent flow, the impurities are discharged through the flushing water outlet, and the sand is returned to the sand by its own weight The bed is thus continuously filtered, and the sand washing wastewater is discharged through a dedicated pipeline.

The purification of sewage and the cleaning of dirty sand are carried out at the same time, so the filter system can operate continuously without interference and greatly reduce labor costs. There are no moving parts in the filter, which greatly reduces the possibility of equipment failure. It also makes the maintenance of the system more convenient.

The continuous flow sand filter adopts a modular processing mode, which can flexibly adapt to sewage filtration of different scales. It can be installed on a large scale in an integrated concrete tank to form a continuous sand filter pool, or it can be installed independently as a continuous sand filter in the form of a tank.
When installed in a concrete tank, the filter unit simulates an independent structure from concrete. The filters share the same sand bed, but the filters operate independently and do not affect each other. Therefore, it can be maintained for the sand lifting system and sand washing of a separate filter.
