Filter Cloth Selection of Filter Press
In order for the filter press to achieve good filtration speed and effectiveness, it needs to be selected according to the density and chemical composition of the filter press object and the filter press process used.
Common filter cloths can be divided into polyester, polypropylene, nylon and cotton according to their materials.
- Polypropylene filter cloth is resistant to acid and alkali and has good elasticity and strength.
- Polyester filter cloth has good acid resistance.
- Cotton filter cloth has good resistance to high temperature.
1. In the selection process of filter cloth, it must have a certain tensile strength and cannot be stretchable.
This is due to the large amount of municipal sludge and frequent filter press process, the filter cloth is used more frequently and needs to be squeezed repeatedly.
2. The filter cloth selected for the filter press must have a certain degree of corrosion resistance.
Municipal sludge needs to add more additives, such as PAM or limestone, before treatment, so the sludge after natural settlement has a more complex nature and is generally alkaline.
In summary, the filter cloth should meet the requirements of corrosion resistance, high strength, small void space, good water permeability, non-adhesive and long life, etc. Polyester or polypropylene filter cloth should be chosen.
