What is Belt Filter Press?
Belt filter press is a continuously running mechanical sludge dewatering equipment. It is mainly used to concentrate and dehydrate various sludges generated during sewage treatment to significantly reduce the volume of sludge and facilitate subsequent transportation, disposal or resource utilization.
Its core working principle is to use the tension, gravity and mechanical pressure of the filter bag to drag out the water in the sludge.

Main components
The belt filter press is mainly composed of filter bags, roller systems, gravity dewatering areas, wedge pre-pressing areas, pressing dewatering areas, unloading devices, filter belt washing devices, and sludge feeding and flocculation mixing systems.
Brief description of the working process
- Sludge conditioning: Sludge is mixed with flocculants to form alum flowers.
- Spreading: The conditioned sludge is evenly spread on the moving filter belt, usually at the front end of the gravity dewatering area.
- Gravity dewatering: In the gravity area, a large amount of free water is discharged through the filter belt, and the sludge is initially thickened.
- Wedge pre-pressing: In the wedge area, the sludge is slightly squeezed, the fluidity is improved, and it is further dehydrated.
- Pressing dehydration: The sludge enters the S-shaped area composed of multiple pressing rollers. Under the action of gradually increasing linear pressure and shear force, the water is strongly squeezed out.
- Cake unloading: The dehydrated mud cake is scraped off by the scraper at the end of the filter belt.
- Filter belt cleaning: The filter bag is immediately rinsed with high-pressure water after unloading, and the water permeability is restored to start the next cycle.
