Application: impurities( garbage, stones, leaves) and fish or other aquatic organism exclusion from river, hydropower plant intakes, irrigation water. It can also be used for domestic, farm, village and small town water supplies.
Working principle
A Coanda screen is installed on the downstream face of the inlet weir. Flow is conveyed through an ogee-shaped accelerator plate at the defined angle and speed required for the screen separation zone. The Coanda effect ensures a constant screen surface contact.
Dirt and particles are screened out using wedge-shaped wires by positioning them in a precise and constant slot gap tolerance screen. The screened water flowing through the open area accumulates in the chamber below it before being conveyed to the pipe. In addition, the angle of inclination of the wedge line provides additional shear effect, which increases the yield.
The flow is due to a combination of orifice flow through the slot and flow shear due to the offset of the wedge line. In addition, the orifice flow component is proportional to the water depth and slot width above the screen. Alternatively, the shear flow component is proportional to the offset height and the velocity across the screen surface. As the water rushes down the Coanda screen surface, the shear flow aspect is enhanced.
