Y Strainer is suitable for liquid and gas materials in chemical, petrochemical, light industry and other production to filter solid impurities. Usually installed on the inlet of a pump, compressor or pipe in front of a flow meter. Y-strainers come standard with 30-mesh stainless steel wire screen, which can intercept solid particles with a particle size of ≥ 50um (also can be customized according to customer requirements).

When cleaning is required, the detachable filter cartridge can be used only after being taken out for processing and then reloaded. Therefore, the use and maintenance are extremely convenient, and it is suitable for pipelines with relatively small flow rates.

Basic principles of selection

  • Principle of inlet and outlet diameter: In principle, the inlet and outlet diameter of the filter should not be smaller than the inlet diameter of the matching pump, which is generally the same as the diameter of the inlet pipeline.
  • Nominal pressure base: determine the pressure level of the filter according to the highest possible pressure in the filter pipeline.
  • Fine selection of the number of holes: The particle size of impurities to be intercepted is mainly considered, which is determined according to the technical requirements of the medium process.
  • The specific material selection of the Y-type filter: the material of the filter is generally selected to be the same as the material of the connected process pipeline, and can be considered for different working conditions: cast iron, carbon steel, low alloy steel or stainless steel filters.

  • Filter element material: titanium alloy sintered filter element, stainless steel pleated filter element, PTFE pleated filter element, polypropylene pleated filter element, metal fiber sintered tube felt, ceramic
  • Flange standard: HG, GB, SH, HGJ, JB or ANSI, JIS and other standards
  • Manufacturing and testing standards: implement GB150 standards or customer-specified standards.
