Filter Press VS Screw Press
In the field of sludge dewatering, screw press and plate and frame filter press, are very common sludge dewatering equipment.
Application
The Screw Press is a water treatment system widely used in municipal sewage treatment projects and industrial industries such as petrochemical, light industry, chemical fiber, paper making, pharmaceutical and leather.
The plate and frame filter press is the first machine applied to chemical dewatering. Although the plate and frame filter press is generally operated intermittently, the investment in infrastructure equipment is large and the filtration capacity is low, it is still widely used in some wastewater plants because of its advantages of high filtration propulsion, high solids content of the filter cake, clear filtrate, high solids recovery rate and low consumption of conditioning drugs.
Advantages
Although the screw press has a series of advantages such as high automation, ability to handle viscous sludge, labor saving, etc., it will be very ineffective in handling inorganic sludge. The plate and frame filter press, on the other hand, has a low water content, but it is easy to clog organic sludge and requires manual cleaning of the filter cloth, which is very costly.
Structure difference
The screw press is made of stainless steel dynamic and static ring composed of the line cavity, the formation of the gap can filter water, while the plate and frame filter press is relying on the gap to take the filter cloth for dewatering.
Power composition
The screw press is the use of drive motor driven spiral shaft for power pressure conveying, the plate and frame filter press is through the pressure pump to convey the extrusion.
Supporting equipment
Screw press is only need dosing device and sludge pump. Plate and frame filter press is different, but also need the concentration device, such as concentration tank or concentration pool.
