Bar screen is the most important auxiliary equipment in sewage pumping station.
The bar screen (called grille as well) is usually composed of a set of parallel grilles, which are angled to the inlet of the pumping station catchment. Its tilt angle is 60 to 80 degrees.
Installation:
The workbench should be set up after the grille, which should generally be 0.5m above the maximum water level upstream of the grille. For the grid of artificial slag removal, the length of its workbench along the direction of water flow is not less than 1.2m, the length of the mechanical slag is not less than 1.5m, the width of the aisles on both sides is not less than 0.7m.
Classification:
- By shape, the bar screen can be divided into flat and curved bar screen. The flat bar screen consists of a grid and a frame. Curved grilles can be divided into fixed curved bar screen and rotating drum bar screen.
- According to the net spacing of the bar screen, it can be divided into three kinds: coarse bar screen (50 to 100mm), medium bar screen (10 to 40mm), and fine bar screen (1.5 to 10mm). Flat bar screen and curved bar screen, can be made into coarse, medium and fine type.
- According to the slag removal method, the bar screen can be divided into manual slag removal and mechanical slag removal bar screen. The manual slag removal bar screen is suitable for small sewage treatment plants. When the amount of slag is greater than 0.2m3/d, in order to improve the labor and health conditions of workers, mechanical slag removal bar screen should be used.
Filtration effect:
The amount of slags removal is related to the gap width between the grids: when the gap width between the grids is 16-25mm (mechanical slag removal), the amount of slags removal is 0.10- 0.05m3/103m3. When the width between the grids is 25-40mm (manual slag removal), the amount of slags removal is 0.03-0.01m3/103m3.
