What equipment is recommended for filtering high-viscosity materials?
For high-value, high-viscosity materials, such as sugar solutions, the separation objective is typically "fine filtration/clarification" rather than "sieving." Here are JX Filtration's recommended, proven solutions:

Preferred Solution: Pressure-driven Precision Filter
This is the most mainstream and reliable method for handling hot, viscous sugar solutions. The system operates under pressure, effectively overcoming viscosity resistance.
Recommended Equipment Types:
1. Bag Filter (Multi-bag):
Advantages: High throughput, strong dirt-holding capacity, quick filter bag replacement, suitable for applications with relatively high suspended solids content. Different precision filter bags (e.g., 1-200 microns) can be selected to intercept target particles.
JX Key Point: We offer models with an insulated jacket, allowing continuous heating of the shell with steam or hot water to prevent the sugar solution from cooling and solidifying during filtration. All contact parts are made of food-grade polished stainless steel.
2. Cartridge Filter (High-flow-rate cartridge):
Advantages: Higher and more stable filtration precision, from 1 micron or even lower. Suitable for fine filtration of sugar solutions with extremely high clarity requirements and low solids content.
JX Key Features: We offer filter cartridges made of various materials, including PP, sintered stainless steel, and titanium rods, to meet different temperature and chemical compatibility requirements. Insulated jackets are also available.
System Key Design Features:
Full-process Insulation/Heating: From the feed pump and filter to the discharge pipeline, the entire process must be heated to maintain the sugar solution at a suitable flow temperature.
Positive Pressure Sludge Removal: After filtration, compressed air or nitrogen is used for "air blowing" to maximize the recovery of valuable sugar solution and reduce waste.
Automated Control: Equipped with pressure sensors and a PLC, automatic alarms or switching occur when the pressure difference reaches a set value, ensuring continuous production.
Auxiliary or Specific Situation Solution: Centrifugal Separation
Applicable Scenarios: When the density of suspended solids differs significantly from that of the sugar solution, and the solids content is high with extremely fine particles (submicron level).
Equipment: Disc separator (often used as the ultimate means of syrup clarification).
Note: For extremely high concentrations, separation efficiency may be affected by viscosity, potentially requiring preheating and dilution. Investment and maintenance costs are high.

For high-viscosity sugar melts, pressurized bag or cartridge filter systems with insulation/heating functions are the standard and efficient solution in industry.
