How does the Channel drum screen work?
Channel drum screen is a continuously working filtering equipment, mainly used to remove suspended solids from liquid. It combines traditional filtering technology with modern automation control to provide efficient and reliable filtering solutions.
Working Principle
The core part of the channel drum filter is a rotating drum forming a filter surface, usually made of stainless steel or other corrosion-resistant materials. The filtering process can be divided into the following steps:
1. Filter coating.
Before the drum filtration begins, the filter medium is evenly covered on the drum surface to form a filter layer. This step helps to improve the filtration efficiency and extend the service life of the filter medium.
2. Filtration.
The liquid to be treated is pumped into the feed trough of the filter and then evenly distributed on the drum surface. As the drum surface rotates, the liquid passes through the filter medium under the action of gravity and vacuum suction, while the solid particles are trapped on the surface of the filter medium.
3. Washing.
In order to maintain the filtration efficiency, the filter medium needs to be cleaned regularly. The high-pressure water jet system can effectively remove the solid particles accumulated on the filter medium and restore its filtration performance.
4. Discharging.
The cleaned solid waste is scraped off the drum surface and discharged through a screw conveyor or other unloading device. This process can be continuous or intermittent.
Channel drum filters are widely used in municipal sewage treatment, industrial wastewater treatment, papermaking, and mining.
